Families with assets or heirs in several countries face legal systems that do not always agree. We coordinate them.
What we do

- Deeds of devolution and coordination with notaries abroad
- Family assets and real estate in Tunisia
- Civil litigation
- Recognition of foreign judgments
- Confidential handling of every matter
Questions our clients ask
- A Franco-Tunisian deceased leaves assets in both countries: which law applies?
- The two systems may give different answers: Tunisian law applies the deceased's national law, the EU regulation the last habitual residence unless a law was chosen. We map the assets and coordinate the procedures to avoid conflicting decisions.
- A foreign judgment needs to be enforced in Tunisia: how does it work?
- Through exequatur proceedings before the Tunisian court, which checks in particular the foreign court's jurisdiction, respect for the rights of the defence and compliance with public policy. We prepare the file to avoid rejection on formal grounds.
